Common Precautions
Change Host Configuration
-
When selecting “Change Configuration” in the menu, the operation is by default required to be performed with the host powered off. If a system upgrade without reboot is needed, please confirm that the host supports hot upgrade (you can see “Hot Upgrade” in the model | features), and select the “Hot Upgrade” operation in the menu.
-
If the size of the system disk is changed, the configuration change time will be longer. The reference time is approximately 30 minutes for every 100GB. However, there is no need to manually adjust the system after the expansion is completed.
-
After expanding the data disk, you need to manually adjust it in the system. For details, see Disk Expansion;
-
Any refunds generated from downgrading the configuration will be immediately credited to your cash account or gift account.
-
For the settlement method of the refund / price difference compensation generated by the configuration change, please refer to the Explanation Document.
Reinstall a Host
-
Reinstalling a host will not cause any change to the internal and external network IPs.
-
Please pay attention to the change of the file system. For example, reinstalling CentOS 6.x to 7.x may lead to the inability to recognize the data disk.
Delete a Host
-
Once a host is deleted, it cannot be restored. Please proceed with caution and ensure that you back up your data in advance.
-
Deleting a host will automatically unbind any Elastic IP (EIP) and UDisk. If you no longer need these resources, you can delete them on the corresponding management page.
-
If the host is in arrears, deleting the host operation will not remove overdue orders. You still need to pay these orders.
-
If the host has not yet reached its expiration time, deleting the host will trigger a refund, immediately returning to your cash account or gift account. For the refund calculation method, please see the Explanation Document.
Make Images
-
It is recommended to shut down the host before creating an image. Otherwise, there may be a risk of failure to boot after the image is created.
-
Only system disk images are supported. If you wish to back up data disks, please use Data Ark.
Reset the Password
-
Currently, it is necessary to shut down the host in order to reset the password.
-
If the default account of the host has been modified, the password reset may not take effect.
