Hot Upgrade
The HotPlug feature supports upgrading the number of CPU cores and memory capacity of a UHost while it is running. Both CPU and memory support online upgrades and expansions. The UHost does not need to be shut down or restarted during the upgrade, and hot upgrades will not affect the performance of applications and services running on the UHost.
Applicable Scenarios

If users cannot accurately assess the required configuration of UHosts at the initial stage of business launch, they can first apply for standard-specification UHosts and later adjust the CPU and memory configurations of the UHosts through hot upgrades.

When facing sudden surges in business pressure, users can directly upgrade the number of CPU cores and memory of UHosts through hot upgrades while horizontally scaling the number of UHosts.
Restrictions
The current UCloud Global hot upgrade operation has the following restrictions:
- Machine type: Only Universal N and High Main Frequency C support hot upgrades. The Outstanding series cloud hosts do not support this feature at this time.
- Basic image:
Currently, only some versions of the base image support hot upgrade operations

- Limitations of hot upgrade range:

CPU: The upper limit for hot upgrades is 4 times the initial number of CPU cores of the UHost. For example, if a UHost is purchased with a 2-core, 2G configuration, the hot upgrade can only support a maximum upgrade to 8 cores. To upgrade to a larger configuration, please use the Change Configuration operation in the management console for offline upgrade expansion.

Memory: Only one-level upward hot upgrade of memory is supported. When selecting a CPU upgrade, the memory capacity must also be upgraded synchronously to match the selected number of CPU cores. For example, if the current UHost configuration is 2 cores and 2G, the memory hot upgrade only supports an upgrade to 4G. To upgrade to a larger configuration, please use the Change Configuration operation in the management console for offline upgrade expansion.
Billing
The hot upgrade feature is a free host feature and does not incur additional charges.
