Recycle Bin

Overview

UFS does not enable the recycle bin by default. After you create a UFS file system in the console, click the Manage Mount button to enter the Recycle Bin sub-tab page, where you will see various information related to the UFS recycle bin, including the display of files in the recycle bin and task management.

Enable Recycle Bin

Click the Enable Now button, and a pop-up window will appear to confirm enabling the recycle bin. Set the retention period in the pop-up window, in days. For example, if you set it to 3 days, files deleted in the last 3 days will be kept in the recycle bin, and files exceeding the retention period will be automatically deleted and cannot be recovered.

After enabling the recycle bin, the status bar on the left will turn green, indicating that the current status is Enabled.

Deleted Files and Directories

After the recycle bin is enabled, deleted ordinary files will enter the recycle bin. Files in the recycle bin still occupy the inode and capacity of the file system. You can see the files in the recycle bin under the Deleted Files and Directories section.

Restoring Files/Folders

Click the Restore button on the right side of the list to restore.

Single File Recovery: You can recover a single file to the original path or a customized path, the customized path is an absolute path in the file system, ending with the file name. If the recovery path does not exist in the file system, it will be created automatically.

Folder Recovery: You can recover an entire folder to the original path or a customized path, the customized path is an absolute path in the file system, ending with /. The folder in the recovery path will be created automatically with root as the owner and permission bit 1755.

Delete files/folders completely

Files in the Recycle Bin will be automatically cleaned up after the retention time.

If you are sure that you don’t need to keep the files or need to release the storage capacity in time, you can click [Delete Completely] to delete the files in the Recycle Bin completely. Please note that the files can’t be retrieved after deleting completely.

Task Management

The Task Management sub-tab page records all task records. The task statuses include Preparing, In Progress, Successfully Executed, and Failed to Execute. If a Failed to Execute status occurs, please contact technical support in a timely manner for handling.

Access Permissions

The owner of the file system account has permission to access the front-end recycle bin page. You will not be able to see/read/write/operate the recycle bin folder on the virtual machine where the file system is mounted. If you encounter problems, please consult the technical customer service for background intervention.
